    Fondly known as Tractor Titan, Mr. L.D. Mittal, Chairman, Sonalika ITL is a man of many hues. Mr. Mittal founded Sonalika Group in 1969, and since then he has grown this company into a multinational corporation, India's third-largest tractor manufacturer. A believer of the mantra, growth through quality & innovation, his focus on research and development has enabled the group to develop products for consumers that offer great value for money.

    A gold medalist from Punjab University, with dual postgraduate degrees in English and Urdu, Mr. L.D. Mittal's passion and dedication has been the driving force in the success of the company. Sonalika ITL manufactures tractors, engines, auto components, and machinery and multi-utility vehicles in India and is now present in over 20 European countries. Exhibiting inspiring innovativeness and entrepreneurial skills, Mr. Mittal applied the latest international technologies for designing a world class tractors which adapted to the needs of the Indian and foreign farmers.

    His endeavors, business acumen and philanthropy have been recognized by the corporate arena and the government through industry-level representations and awards. Mr. L.D. Mittal has received several honors including the prestigious ˜Pride of the Nation, Udhyog Ratna, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2006 award. Apart from these, the Unnat Bharat Seva Shri Puruskar for outstanding services in agriculture and the Agriculture leadership award for his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements in the field of agriculture, are also few of the many feats to his credit. Mr. L D Mittal was previously the Honorary Consulate General of the Embassy of Macedonia, the President of Indian Tractor Manufacturers Association, Co“ Chairman of ICCI Expert Committee on Agriculture, Member of National Council, CII, Member of Development Council for Automobile & Allied Industries, Government of India, Member of CII National Committee on World Trade Organization and member of Managing Committee of Bharati Vidyapeeth University. Mr. Mittal also features on the FORBES annual ranking of the world's richest people. He holds 52nd position.

    On the personal front, he is a deeply spiritual man. He is a rare combination of poetic and entrepreneurial talent. He often recites a famous verse of the great Urdu poet, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Mein Akela Hi Chala Tha Janebe Manzil Magar- Humsafar Milte Gaye Aur Karwan Banta Gaya (I had started all alone towards the destination “ people joined me on the way to make it a big caravan).

    A versatile speaker of international acclaim, Mr. Mittal has been frequently invited to speak in and chair many national & international forums including Agro tech, Chandigarh and INDIA DAY in SIMA Fair in France to disseminate his views on industry and economy.

    Mr. A.S. Mittal, Vice Chairman of Sonalika ITL, the country's pioneering manufacturers of tractors and farm equipment. With a vast experience spanning over 40 years, Mr. A.S. Mittal has steadily built ITL enterprise into becoming the world's 3rd largest tractor manufacturer, one of the largest exporters of tractors in the domestic market.

    Mr. A.S. Mittal had played a pioneering role in farm mechanization and agricultural productivity in the country and, through his untiring efforts revolutionized farming practices through innovative and cost effective farm mechanization, which had resulted in the enhancement of farm productivity and incomes.

    Through his vision and leadership, Mr. A.S. Mittal actively pursued to enter into newer markets. Mr. A.S. Mittal has institutionalized the core values of integrity and ethics, maintaining long-term relationships with customers and all stakeholders, and ensuring that Sonalika Group companies reputation as a manufacturer of quality products and customer satisfaction remained sacrosanct.

    A staunch believer of quality and efficiency, he focuses to build tractors with sophisticated features without compromising on the global standards of maintaining emission norms.   • Mr. Deepak Mittal

    Managing Director

    Efforts are important, success isn't as success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. This is the governing belief of Mr. Deepak Mittal, Managing Director of Sonalika ITL, India's third-largest indigenous tractor manufacturer.

    An ardent economist, philanthropist and a self-motivated entrepreneur, Mr. Mittal believes in the adage of ˜Think Big and it is his conviction, despite the many challenges, that has taken this spirit ahead in India and in over 80 countries where Sonalika ITL now exports to.

    He manufactured the first tractor in 1996, which was sold to a customer in Madhya Pradesh who is still using the same Sonalika Tractor. Mr. Mittal values and appreciates customers and their loyalty and thus, focusses specifically on technology and R&D in the tractor segment. The motto he follows is “People First. Safety First.

    Under his guidance, Sonalika ITL has successfully introduced new breakthrough services and products in the market, selling more than 10,000 tractors annually on an from the first export order in 2010 for cameroon, today Sonalika tractors are sold in 80 countries including 20 european countries company internationally. Mr. Mittal has turned the wheel of success of Sonalika ITL to a full circle. Today, Sonalika ITL is exporting Indian technologies to European countries.

    Mr. Mittal initiated the CSR initiatives by the company and hence, Sonalika Charitable Trust was founded. The initiative emphasizes intensely on a strategy known as LIFE (Living in Family Environment) to provide permanent residential care to orphaned and abandoned children. In 2004, he formed the Clean & Green Association which organizes cleanliness and plantation drives in different parts of Hoshiarpur city.

    An avid trekker; the destress mantra of Mr. Mittal is getting back to the nature. He practices yoga and meditation and has a spiritual bent of mind.

  • Mr. Raman Mittal

    Executive Director, Sonalika ITL

    Mr. Raman Mittal, Executive Director of Sonalika ITL is the third generation business scion. He has studied Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech) and Management (MBA). Under his guidance as a leader of the domestic tractor business the company stands at number 3 position in the tractor manufacturing segment in India today. He drives the India business with a focus on product quality, services, technology enablement, research & development and strategic marketing initiatives.

    Mr. Raman started his journey with the plant operations of Sonalika group at the Hoshiarpur plant in 2004. His stint at the production plant helped define new standards in efficiency and quality by reaching 250 tractors manufacturing per day from base of 150. Few key achievements of Sonalika under his leadership are:

    Establishment of state of the art integrated tractor manufacturing plant plant in Hoshiarpur, with a production capacity of approximately 3 lakh tractors annually. Working with the R&D team to develop GardenTrac Series establishing Sonalika as pioneers in India in the segment. Instilling digital culture into the on-going business system of the organisation.

    He has a vision to make tractors with highest level of quality standards and in the wake of the same dream he is leading the company to develop a range of next generation of tractors across categories and believes that quality will be the key differentiator for these.

    Human Resource Development is another crucial area that remains a focus for Mr. Raman. He believes that establishing a culture of ownership is key to true leadership across all business functions. His constant efforts are to strengthen people, process and product for a holistic growth of company towards becoming a leading farming technology brand in India.

  • Mr. Sushant Sagar Mittal


    Mr. Sushant Sagar Mittal is a graduate in International Business from London. He joined his family business of tractors in 2011 and looks after the company,s International Business/ Exports portfolio, with focus on strategy and new business & product development.

    Mr. Mittal,s has positioned Sonalika ITL as one of the few companies that export Indian tractors internationally, with a strong presence in more than 80 countries around the globe. Mr. Mittal,s forte has been to understand the agricultural complexities of different regions and then launching customized products & services as per their respective requirements and local farming practices. The customization of products backed with unmatched aftersales services has helped Sonalika ITL not only to enter but lead the markets internationally.

    With a vision to be amongst top three players of tractor manufacturers globally, Mr. Mittal plans to foray into newer geographies and set up assembly lines in Algeria and Brazil.

  • Mr. Rahul Mittal


    Mr. Rahul Mittal (Director – ITL) is a Mechanical Engineer from Cardiff University (U.K.) and M.B.A graduate from S P Jain School of Global Management. He joined the family business in 2015 and looking after the international business portfolio of Sonalika ITL.

    With the presence in all continent, under his leadership Sonalika ITL has touched new heights by becoming market leader in some global markets. Mr. Mittal’s major focus has been on the development of globally standard tractors as per market needs and to provide best in class services to the customers through targeted market research, world class R&D and updated technology. Under his guidance Sonalika ITL has launched heavy HP range of the tractors which has enabled Sonalika ITL to enter new markets like China & USA.

    Mr. Mittal has started his journey with Sonalika ITL with a dream of reaching to farmers in every part of the globe and to position Sonalika ITL as a first choice of the farmers internationally.
